Alexander and Jeanette Toczko love for each other was a life long intimacy.  They were married in 1940, and stayed married for 75 years before they died with 24 hours of each other, their love for each other started since they were 8 years-old.

Alexander a world war II veteran broke his hip and his health started to decline after that incident and their children knew that he had little time before he pass on and also they are aware that their parents wanted to be in each other's side before they died.

Their daughter Aimee Toczko-Cushman says  "Their hearts beat as one from as long as I can remember." and their son Richard also said "They wanted to go in their own bed, holding hands in each other's arms."

The Toczko children told reporters their mothers one wish was to make it to her 75th wedding anniversary, which was June 29th, the family decided to celebrate early after hospice brought into Toczkos' home for Alexander, Aimee their daughter said "And my mother was thrilled to death, because it was their anniversary and she knew that he was going and that they had made it to 75 years."

After the Toczkos' early 75th wedding anniversary celebration ended and everyone went home.  It was discovered later by the doctors that Alexander passed away in Jeanette's arms.  She hugged him and says her lovely momentary partings and Jeanette passed away the next day.  Aimee Toczko said "He died in her arms which is exactly what he wanted."

It's a heartbreaking story which is why there actually a medical condition known as a 'Broken Heart Syndrome.' It's when someone dies from a stressful and emotional event such as a death of a loved one (this is according to American Heart Association),  its symptoms are similar to those a heart attack.  And what may be the explanation of Jeanette's death. The Toczkos now rest together at the Miramar, National Cemetery.
